- Published on: 5 August 2021Why do a hysterectomy for Stage 1A1 cervical cancer?
The UK guidelines on this are clear - Stage 1A1 microinvasive cancer is very low risk and local treatment e.g LEEP/LLETZ is perfectly adequate. Therefore arguably most of the patients did not need a Hysterectomy in any case - they had a very low background risk of recurrence and therefore highly unlikely for route of access to influence this?
